Extraordinary Metal Creations
Giving new life to salvaged metal wherever possible!
Integrating art into everyday is the focus of Irene Deely’s metal work from overlooked utilitarian objects to grander spaces in which people live and work. Her perception of environmental surroundings explores the relationship between beauty and function so that the line between fine art and useful objects is blurred. One is invited to not only touch her work but also become a part of it. From light switch covers to large-scale Architectural embellishments, Deely’s creative endeavors know no bounds. Reclaimed materials are often used that bring new significance and beauty to objects that had outlived their previous purpose. Her technique in steel retains its natural characteristics by using only basic hand tools during the fabrication process, which imparts an authenticity and “soul” to every piece. Deely assimilates metal with stone, acrylic, wood and other materials that might contribute to its appeal and purpose. She is intimately involved with each project from conceptual design to fabrication and installation to meet and exceed the high levels of expectations from her clients. In addition to welded steel, Deely works in cast bronze to create small to heroic scale limited editions in her signature style. She seeks to give a very personal dimension to these pieces by searching out the spirit behind an idea and giving it physical form. Regardless of what substance Deely works, she is conscious of creating something that welcomes living and interacting with art to inspire other’s creativity.
